My Anointed Journey
About Lady Marsha Ladd-Guthrie

FIRST LADY MARSHA LADD-GUTHRIE is an anointed evangelist, writer, mother, wife and Proverbs 31 Elect Lady. She is a powerful woman of God who with grace, commitment, and passion serves alongside her husband, the Honorable Bishop Joseph D. Guthrie, Pastor of the First Apostolic Church and Diocesan of the Georgia State Council, 30th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.

Lady Ladd-Guthrie was born and raised in Hominy, Oklahoma, educated in the Oklahoma school system and graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1980 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education. She later moved to Mobile, Alabama after marrying the late Deacon Dwight Ladd, Sr., where she and her family attended the Apostolic Church of God Rapture Preparation Center under the leadership of the late, Bishop John H. Shaw.

In February 2005, the sudden passing of her husband took Lady Ladd-Guthrie on a new journey in learning of the depth and riches of God’s love and keeping power. During this season of loss, she continued to serve the people of God with a smile in various ministries and offices. In addition to becoming a licensed Evangelist of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., she served as a Christian Education teacher, Teachers Technique Coordinator, Health Professional, Music Ministry Assistant Director, Drama Ministry Director, Public Relations Announcer, Hospitality Ministry Director, Culinary Ministry staff, and Executive Board Lay Member. Her gift for writing was revealed and while in her period of bereavement, the Lord began to download into her spirit, powerful words in which she captured by putting pen to paper. The divinely-inspired writings such as “Out of the Shadow”, “A Borrowed Prayer”, “God Said”, “Basic Training”, “How Long?”, “A Widow’s Plea”, “Does Grief Have a Permanent Address?”, “Dare Too”, “Am I Intelligent Enough?”, “Woman of Excellence”, “So What if I Am Special”, “Bloody Sunday”, “A Fresh Wind Fell on 9/11,” and “Out of the Shadows” are just to name a few.

Lady Ladd-Guthrie worked as a special education teacher in the Mobile County School System for 32 years before retiring in 2012. She is known as a chaste keeper of the home and is an excellent cook. Her signature dessert is the “peach cobbler” which leaves many who partake of it speechless.

As God uses Lady Ladd-Guthrie to reveal the powerful meaning of God’s love and inspiration, it is evident that she is revered as her family’s matriarch by her two sons, Dwight Ladd, Jr. and Lamar Ladd. She is a woman with God-given gifts and truly embodies the meaning of her first name “Marsha” as she has demonstrated that she is a “brave warrior” when faced with adversity.

In 2016, Lady Ladd-Guthrie found love again when she met Bishop Joseph D. Guthrie and on April 29, 2017, they were joined in holy matrimony. Now on a new journey, this dynamic couple along with their family is positioned to do mighty exploits for the Kingdom of God.

Lady Ladd-Guthrie has confirmed that you can move forward when an unfortunate station happens in life by holding on to faith in God. The power of the words that she has written has comforted many in their trouble. She is walking out her divine purpose assigned to her by God and though the waters that she treads are uncharted territory, she is expecting that even greater things are in store!
